Having only Twenty Pieces means you travel light. You may not think that the excess in you closet is weighing you down, but you will definitely notice the difference once it is gone. I am somehow less weighed down, but more anchored, except when I am panicking about something. The panic can be quite real and scary, but there is no longer any illusion that stuff can bring any resolution, and there is more peace within the panic.
A friend sent me the NY Times article, You Probably Have Too Much Stuff, a few days ago. I resonate with it so much. The more I get rid of, the more I want to get rid of. Check it out and consider the ways you have used your stuff to soothe your panic. Have there been any hidden costs?

Juls, this reminds me of the song from the Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess “I Got Plenty O’Nothing,” and of the song “I Got the Sun in the Morning” from Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun. Both songs profess a freedom of being free from stuff and really enjoy life because of it. Maybe they can help remind you when you feel panic!
It’s too sad, that your project is almost finished. I finally decided on my way to do it. I’m not going to give stuff away but just will try not to shop clothes at all. And careful as I am, I start with a months and will see how far it will get me after that. Quite scary but also feeling like a big adventure!
